What Do I Need to Find My Ring Size?

Want to know how ring sizes are measured at home? All you need is a pen, scissor, a ruler, and either a flexible measuring tape, string or paper. The final piece of the puzzle is our ring size chart, which you can use once you’ve measured your finger. Don’t worry, it’s easy!

Pro Tip: For the most accurate result, pull the paper/ string as tightly as possible. *Don’t worry! The correct ring size is determined on the basis of a tight measurement; the ring itself won’t fit that tightly.

How to Measure Ring Sizes at Home

To find your size, first wrap the measuring tape (or paper/ string) around the base of the finger on which you plan to wear your ring. Ideally the measuring tape should be cloth — if you are struggling to wrap a measuring tape around your finger, just switch to a paper/ string to ensure your measurement is accurate.

Use a pen to mark the tape or paper/ string where it overlaps or cut the small piece of paper/ string with scissors. Then, simply measure the paper/ string in millimeters, or note how many millimeters it took to wrap the measuring tape around your finger.

 

Finger measuring tips

If you are between sizes, order a larger size. We recommend measuring your finger three to four different times because the size actually fluctuates depending on temperature: It can be smaller the colder you are and more swollen if you're overheated. If you know your knuckle is on the larger side, you should order half a size bigger than what your finger alone indicates, otherwise you won't be able slide a ring into the right place.
